Dame Dame Julie Andrews has been named an ambassador for Kids Music Day, October 5, alongside musicians Richie Sambora, Sarah McLachlan, Jim Brickman, Siedah Garrett, Alma Deutsher, and Todd Rundgren.

The annual holiday, now in its third year, was founded by American organisation Keep Music Alive to 'promote the value of music', and aims to highlight the importance of using music in education through student performances, community jamming sessions and instrument donations in over 500 locations worldwide.
